Daily Schedule Gates open at 7:30 a.m., please do not drop off your child before 7:30 a.m. Warning Bell rings at 7:48 a.m. Tardy Bell/Instruction Begins at 7:53 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday dismissal is at 2:16 p.m. Tuesday dismissal is at 1:16 p.m.

Valet Programs Two valet locations available North and South side of the school Gledhill Street – 7:30am – 7:55am Liggett Street – 7:30am – 7:55am NO Jaywalking – IT IS UNSAFE! Please cross your students at the nearest crosswalk on Gloria and Gledhill Street

Afterschool Programs Hours: Afterschool to 6:00 pm LA’s Best – Coach Ana Applications available in the office or with coach (818) 577-0393 (818) 388-3634 Youth Services (YS) – Coach Jenny Applications available with coach Must have an application on file

Meal Application Every child must have a meal application filled out. You have the option to complete a paper application or you can complete a very quick online application at https://www.myschoolapps.com. If we do not receive an online or paper meal application processed by the end of the August, your child will be required to pay $3.00 daily for a lunch. Meal Applications also generate money to Gledhill for field trips, extra activities, etc. They are also tied to our Gifted Testing Criteria.

Healthy Snacks/Lunch Gledhill adheres to the LAUSD Health and Wellness Policy We do not allow high sugar food items to be brought to school We urge you to send your child with a healthy snack and healthy lunch (sack) Our website has a list of healthy beverages and snacks NO cookies, donuts, Takis, soda, etc. please

Birthday Parties/Treats Birthday parties in which you bring cupcakes, cakes, cookies; high sugary treats are not permitted at Gledhill Instead, we allow goody bags that are filled with non-food items such as pencils, stickers, erasers, etc. You may also bring in an art project to be shared during the last 15 minutes of the day. Please speak or email your child’s teacher to coordinate the project

Visitor Policy Gledhill is a closed campus for the safety and security of all children. From August 15, 2017-August 25, 2017, we will have an open campus so parents and/or legal guardians can enter with their child. All visitors must exit the campus promptly once the 7:53 when the bell rings Starting on Monday, August 28, 2017, we will resume our closed campus policy and you will need to say your morning goodbyes at the gate. If wanting to enter the campus, you must sign in and obtain a visitors badge or sticker.

Gledhill Welcomes Parent Volunteers Volunteers are a wonderful resource to Gledhill and bring assistance, experience and knowledge to our school. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete an online volunteer application at https://volunteerapp.lausd.net. You need to complete the Volunteer Commitment Form (given by an office staff member) and submit a TB Test that is not older than 6 months. Megan’s Law will also be checked for sex offender clearance.

Dress Code Clothing must be appropriate for school and the season, and must not distract from the instructional day.  Shoes must have closed toes No sandals, flip-flops or high heels Thursdays are College Days Fridays are School Spirit Days Please purchase a Gledhill Grizzly T-Shirt from the office
