I am happy to be back at school and can’t wait until our AIM classes start! This is my 22nd year in education and at GREEN! WOW I am old! I have a daughter, Ellen, who is in 6th grade here. I love learning new things and crave creativity, and can’t wait to learn with, and from, your children. I hope that you find this year brings many new experiences to you and your child and that the skills your child works on in AIM will prepare them for future learning in and outside of the classroom! Curriculum Allen ISD has implemented the gifted education curriculum by the College of William and Mary which is project based. This year we will continue to focus on critical thinking skills, problem solving, inductive and deductive reasoning, and logic skills. Our integrated unit of study is ancient Egypt: Gift of the Nile. We will be studying the ancient Egyptian civilization and the details of their daily life, democratic systems, monuments, and economy along with the geography of ancient Egypt. The main goals of the unit are listed below.
