SO THEN GO

1. Fill your mind with TRUTH! 2. Fuel your affection for GOD! 3. Share God’s love as a witness! 4. Show God’s LOVE! 5. Spread the glory of God! 6. Train them!

Train Them

Tradition: the handing down of statements, beliefs, legends, customs, information, etc., from generation to generation, especially by word of mouth or by practice: Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother who leads an unruly life and not according to the tradition which you received from us 2 Thessalonians 3:6

2 Thessalonians 2:15 So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us.

4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one 4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:4-9

2 Timothy 2:1,2 My dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus. 2 You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.

How will I bring them in? Start with identifying a small group, consider two, three, or four people God has put in your sphere of influence whom you can lead to make disciples. Ask God for the names of specific people and invite those few people to spend intentional time with you in the days ahead for the express purpose of growing in Christ together.

How will I teach them to obey? Why is obedience so critical? Because it is the doorway into His grace. Consider John 3:36:  The Father loves his Son and has put everything into his hands. 36 And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.”

What to teach them from God’s Word? How to feed from it, to gain nourishment Focus on transformation not only information Make sure your time is covered by grace Strive for gospel centeredness Keep mutual accountability key The only reason we can make disciples is because we have decided to be a disciple.

How will I model obedience? We now find ourselves in a position where we are leading other people to follow us. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 11:1 Follow me as I follow Christ. In Philippians 4:9 he said whatever you have seen me do put it into practice. In short teach them to pray, read the word and share the gospel.

How will I send them out? As you practically walk it out with them they are able to see the model. They see the successes and the challenges. When a baby chick is ready to fly sometimes mama provides a nudge.
