The Change in Thessalonians They Received the Word In much affliction – v. 6; Acts 17:1-9 Word will bring results – receive or reject As the Word of God – 2:13 If we reverence God we respect His Word In order to be born again – 1 Peter 1:23
The Change in Thessalonians They Turned From Idols If converted will turn away from old man May be false religion May be family May be immoral behavior May be a relationship Cannot serve the Lord & not turn from the old man
The Change in Thessalonians They Turned To God To serve Him – v. 9 To worship Him – 5:17 To abound in His work – 1 Cor. 15:58 To wait for His Son – v. 10 Will come as a thief in the night – 5:2 Waiting while busy serving
The Change in Thessalonians They Sounded out the Word Cannot be content with receiving word we must pass it on – 2 Timothy 2:2
