What is the DMV Math Tournament? The word DMV stands for DC, Maryland, and Virginia states. The DMV Math Tournament is a MOEMS based (but not same as MOEMS) competition to be held on April 27, 2019 at RLC Cafeteria.
Who can participate in this Tournament? All the 4th and 5th grade (elementary schools or homeschooled) students in DC, Maryland, and Virginia states are eligible to participate in this Tournament.
Format of the Tournament DMV Math Tournament consists of three rounds and an awards ceremony: Individual Round: Each student works alone on 10 timed short-answer problems (30 minutes). Team Round: All team members work cooperatively on another 10 timed short-answer problems (20 minutes). Playoff/Tiebreaker Round: Up to five additional problems with time constraints to break ties for awards. No calculators are allowed.
