(8.6.1) Description of Formative Performance Task: You will view videos about the principles of the Napoleonic Code and common law and write down as many notes as you can. Note: the more notes you have, the more information you will have to work with. Steps: Get out paper and pencil. Write down as many facts as you can from the videos that help answer the question above. (The more note you take, the more you will have to work with later on.) Put these in your folder until we need them for the next task. (8.6.1) Description of Formative Performance Task: With an elbow partner type up a Word document that includes all the notes the both you wrote down from the Task 1 videos. Insert a picture or clipart that reflects what you wrote for each note. Steps: Get out your notes taken during Task 1 videos. With your elbow partner compare the notes that were taken. Using a laptop or desk top computer, type up all notes taken from the videos. If some of your notes are the same as your partners, those facts just need to be typed once. Be sure to include a picture or clip art that reflects what you wrote for each note. (8.6.1) Description of Summative Performance Task: You will create a power point using the information from your Task 2 Word document with your elbow partner. You will also provide feedback to other classmates’ presentations. Steps: With your elbow partner, pull up your Word document that you created from Task 2. You and your partner will create a power point presentation by copying and pasting the information and pictures from your Word document to the Powerpoint slides. You may add audio/video and slideshow effects to your slideshow once you have the above completed. When you are done, you and your partner will show your presentation to other groups who are also finished and also view other groups’ presentations. Provide written feedback and suggestions for each Powerpoint you observe. Students from other classes will view your presentation and provide feedback by way of their short Sock Puppet critique. Steps: Gather all notes and information about the Napoleonic Code and common law. With your partner, come up with an interview/dialogue using your information about the above topic.
