Problem number one: A company received order for 1,000 pencils, and then a batch of orders came in for 4,000 more. The company has 1,500 pencils in stock, and 8,000 pencils are due in next week. How many pencils will the company have in stock after this shipment comes in and has fulfilled all orders?

Problem Number Two: Charlie’s job is to set up tailgating tents at the Grove for every home football game at Ole Miss. Each tent much be assembled and staked in the ground. Also with the tent, comes two tables, six chairs, a television set, and power strips. It takes Charlie about 30 minutes to set up each tent site. How many hours will it take Charlie and 9 of his co-workers to set up 426 tent sites? Round your answer to the nearest hour.

Problem Number Three: Bailey received 100 dollars from her parents for her birthday. She spent $60 on some new clothes. She mowed her grandpa’s lawn and earned $15. She decided to go play miniature gold and spent $23. She also went to a movie Friday and spent $16. How much money does she have left?

Problem Number Four: A salesman bought a case of 48 backpacks for $576. He sold 17 of them at $18 each at a swap meet, and the rest were sold to a department store for $25 each. How much was the salesman's profit?

Problem Number Five: A moving company is hired to take 578 clay pots to a florist shop. The florist will pay the company a $200 fee, plus $1 for every pot that is delivered safely. The moving company must pay the florist $4 each for any pots that are lost or broken. If two pots are lost, four pots are broken, and the rest are delivered safely, how much should the moving company be paid?

Problem Number Six On the first play, a running back gained 26 yards. Then, the quarterback threw a pass for an additional seven yards. On the third play, the quarterback was sacked for a huge loss of ten yards. The team tried to run again but lost two more yards. On the next play the team gained 17 yards. What was the teams net gain or loss?

Problem Number Seven: On Friday morning the temperature in Buffalo, NY was 29 degrees. A cold front moved in dropping the temperature 34 degrees and leaving six feet of snow. On Saturday the temperature rose 3 degrees every hour for 7 hours. Calculate the final temperature in Buffalo, NY.

Problem Number Eight A roller coaster starts at Point A. It goes up 20 feet, down 32 feet, then up 16 feet to Point B. Find the height at Point B in relation to Point A. Explain your reasoning.

Problem Number Nine A submersible is diving from the surface of the water at a rate of 90 feet per minute. After 7 minutes of diving the vessel stops to take pictures and gather some data on five great white sharks. The vessel then dives another 725 feet, stops for a while and begins an assent of 1,100 feet. Write an integer to represent the sea level of the vessel?

Problem Number Ten Museum tickets cost $9 for students and $14 for adults. What is the total cost for 25 students and 6 adult chaperones to enter the museum?
