The Great Society LBJ was reelected in 1964 From 1964-1967, LBJ got Congress to pass several laws about poverty, racial injustice, education, environment, etc. He used the term Great Society to describe an America without poverty or racial injustice Pushed for much more funding for schools (he thought education was key to great society)
