This Week in English Amped: Today’s Agenda Thursday, February 2, 2017 Objectives & Meeting Book Club Sheets Book Club Discussion POV to prepare for RATE Announcements: Recruiting 2/8/17 Be the change you want to see! Objectives: Apply knowledge of literary concepts to analyses of book club novels Identify and analyze the role that Point of View has in literary analysis This Week in English Amped: Tuesday: Book Clubs Wednesday: Prep for Recruiting Thursday: Book Clubs Friday: RATE, Music Appreciation, Restorative Justice circle Supplies: laptops,

Option1: Do the Book Club sheet now, get the grade you earn If you have not done the reading for today, these are your choices while others complete the book club sheet: Option1: Do the Book Club sheet now, get the grade you earn Option 2: Read silently to get caught up and complete the book club sheet on your own time by Monday. You will lose 10% of the grade you earn as a late penalty. If you turn in your work after Monday, then you will lose 50% of the earned grade.

If you have not done the reading for today, these are your choices while others participate in the small group discussion: Option1: Participate in the discussion. You will be graded for quality of responses (10 points). Option 2: Read silently to get caught up and/or complete the book club sheet on your own time by Monday. You will lose 10% of the grade you earn as a late penalty. If you turn in your work after Monday, then you will lose 50% of the earned grade. Also, you will be given an additional RATE paragraph due Monday to replace your small group discussion grade (10 points).
