Geographers use interactions to discuss consequences of people’s actions, for example: People build factories to produce goods. Pro: everyone in the region as the products they need. Con: the smog from the factories causes pollution.

How people are changed by the environment The way people have changed due to the environment can be called adaptation. It is the way humans change to suit their environment. Example: wearing warm clothes when it is cold outside

How the environment has been changed by the people. Modification is the way people change their environment to suit their needs. Example: Watering your lawn if you live in a dry area or cutting down forests to make room to grow crops or build cities.

How people depend on the environment Depending on the environment is when people depend on their environment for their needs. Examples: using trees for firewood
