I can explain the physical features of Ancient Greece.

Im going to give you a sheet of paper Im going to give you a sheet of paper. Please go to Canvas to look at the blank map and the physical map. Only draw the area in blue.

Use the next map to label the blank map. Ionian Sea Mediterranean Sea Pindus Mountains Sea of Crete Island of Crete Aegean Sea Make sure you share it with me.

I am going to ask some of you to come up and teach about the blank map.

Now I am going to put you with a partner. Please draw the map on large piece of paper.

Let students present their maps.

We are now going to read.

Advantages- protection, Mediterranean Sea enabled trade and movement, interaction with other areas contributed to the development of Greece Disadvantages- lack of resources, isolation of city-states, lack of unity, vastly different cultural characteristics among city-states

Im going to put you into partners. You will be a 1 or 2. If you are a 1, please make an argument as to why someone should move to Ancient Greece. Make sure you use the advantages that we just discussed. If you are a 2, please make an argument as to why someone should not move to Ancient Greece. Make sure you use the disadvantages that we just discussed. (write your arguments in canvas. Do this in essay form. 5 sentences.)

Go back to your assign seats so you can present your arguments.
