Location Term Definition Example Location Where the place is Latitude/longitude, hemisphere, continent Absolute location The location of a place based on a fixed point on Earth Address, latitude/longitude Relative location The general location of a place based on it’s surroundings Street name, town, city, state, country, landmark, N, E, S, W

Place Term Definition Example Place The physical and human characteristics Describe: size and shape Physical features: mountains, rivers, deserts Climate: temperature, weather, rainfall People: religion, nationality, traditions

Human/Environment Interaction Term Definition Example Human/Environment Interaction The relationship between people and their environment. How people adapt to their environment and how they change their environment. 3 categories Depend: food supply, oxygen, natural resources, and water. Impact: pollution, over use of natural resources Help the environment: walk or ride your bicycle, reduce, reuse, or recycle, use renewable energy
