Series L Air conditioners for Laboratories

Modular air conditioners with upflow air supply. With direct expansion circuit: OLA series With chilled water coil: OLU series

Possible Applications: Surgical rooms Pharmaceutical industries Aseptic surgical rooms Electronic industries Food industries Air-space industries Metrological rooms Research laboratories Hospital laboratories Fresh air treatment

For the treatment of total fresh air or with partial or total re-circulation. Possibility of exaust section. Available static pressure up to 400 Pa downstream the F9 filter Possibility of automatic control of the overpressure of the controlled room in regards to a reference one.

L (Low air flow): low air flow in regards to the cooling capacity and therefore good for all or quite all fresh air treatment for every type of installation. It must be notice that in these units the installation of a preheating coil is impossible and therefore the risk of freezing the cold water one cannot be avoided, so either an antifreeze coil is installed inside the fresh air ducts, or a glycole charge must be added to the water content of the hydraulic circuit. H (High air flow): hence high air flow in regards to the cooling capacity, therefore good for the treatment of higher air recirculation.

Fundamental Characteristics: in conformity to the G.M.P (good manufacturing practice). The air conditioners of the L series can satisfy the following requests:

The units of the L Series come with a G4 class filter as standard equipment installed upstream the cooling coil and a post filter of class F9 on air supply. The F9 filter, complete with its gaskets locking system to assure the elimination of any air bypass through the gasket, is entered in a supply plenum to be installed as standard on top of the unit. In alternative, when the total height is a problem, the discharge plenum can be installed on the back of the unit (accessory: fans backward rotated).

In case of necessity of higher available static pressure (above 400 Pa up to 800), the units of the Series H: air conditioners for surgical rooms, or of the Series W: air conditioners for clean rooms must be forecast. The unit provides, downstream of the supply filter, up to 400 Pa of prevalence (controlled by the inverter) for the air ducts both in intake and supply to the room, for the sound dampers and for the eventual absolute terminal filtering system which, if installed, must anyway have a very low pressure drop: maximum of 200 Pa.

These units are compatible with absolute filters working in low air speed: unidirectional (laminar) ceilings. The two filter sections of the units are equipped with a differential pressostat for the indication through the microprocessor of the status of dirty filter.

Control microprocessor All the operating and safety functions of L Series air conditioners are managed by the standard pCO 2 microprocessor, which allows controlling temperature in two ways: proportional or proportional-integral and relative humidity in proportional. Also, the pCO 2 controls the room overpressure and can be easily connected, through a standard MODBUS/JBUS protocol incorporated in the software, with the BMS systems of all major Manufacturers.

Inverter on the supply air fans A measurer, standard installed in the supply section, controls the actual air flow so that the microprocessor can compare it with the set point and adjust through an inverter the fan revolution number to compensate the increased pressure drop due to the filters becoming dirty. An absolutely constant air flow is therefore assured. In alternative, when a constant air pressure inside the supply duct is required, a pressure transmitter is installed downstream the F9 air filter and the unit is handled to keep it constant.

Framework: sandwich panels The framework of the unit is made of galvanised steel with anodised aluminium profiles. The compressors, electric panel and regulation are installed in a lateral section completely separated from the air flow. The panels are two-wall sandwich type, made of light grey prepainted galvanised steel plates, and are thermally and acoustically insulated inside with 25mm-thick foamed polyurethane. The condensate bac is in stainless steel.

Post-heating/heating hot water coil with modulating proportional valve Step or modulating electric post-heater/heater Hot gas bypass modulating reheating coil Autonomous modulating humidifier with immersed electrodes. Modulating dehumidification modulating system. Rigorous control of the temperature and humidity

These units are compatible with absolute filters working in low air speed: unidirectional (laminar) ceilings. The two filter sections of the units are equipped with a differential pressostat for the indication through the microprocessor of the status of dirty filter.
