The Human Population Spring 2017

The Human Population Demography The study of information about human populations.

The Human Population Birthrate- the number of live births per 1000. Death rate- the number of deaths per 1000 people in a year. Age Structure- refers to the number of people at each different age level. Information is shown in an age graph.

The Human Population When a large amount of a population is children, the population is experiencing rapid growth. When there are more adults than children, the population is declining. When the amount of people in different age levels is equal, the population is stable.

Human Activities that affect the biosphere are: Hunting and Gathering Major mass extinction of animals Wooly mammoth, sabre-tooth tigers Agriculture Farming including fruit, veggies, and grains Ranching including raising cattle, chickens, ect.

Human Activities that affect the biosphere are: Industrial growth- The Industrial Revolution transformed human society Added machines and factories (pollution) Urban development- People move to the suburbs from the city due to overcrowding Causes stress on plant and animal populations
