Classroom, Phone, & Home learning policies Students are expected to arrive in a timely manner and set up based on the directions on the Promethean board. Students who are absent are responsible for meeting with their teacher as soon as they return, to satisfy any missing assignments. Failure to follow-up will result in a grade of “F” being input into gradebook. Calling a classmate is always recommended/expected. Cell phones are only to be out when requested by instructor for research purposes ONLY. Cell phones found out, will be confiscated. Home learning is critical, although they may not have an assignment every day, students are to review what was covered during class to prepare for end of section quizzes (1), as well as end of chapter Tests (2). (Grade value)- Prep Cards required to take assessment. PLEASE CHECK THE STUDENT PORTAL “GRADEBOOK” as often as possible, as it is a valuable tool.

Lab Policies Students are to engage in learning while conducting labs. Failure to comply with the necessary rules of “Lab Safety” located in their Science Journals, will result in removal from labs. $6.00 per student Lab Fee Please use link on parent portal steps listen on school website-OSP Collections in cash will be conducted during the school day Tuesday 9/18/18 LAST CHANCE. Cash M,T ONLY next week.

Science Fair This year in 8th grade, students will complete a science project (in pairs or solo). Pair projects will NOT be eligible for competition and submission for county science fair. Need to know before you start, that you are interested in competing. No Project Boards (YAY!), ALL projects will be on a power point presentation format. Dates are TBD (99% due Before Thanksgiving Break) FYI

Thank you! I look forward to working with each of your families and our students. LET’S DO THIS! Please drive safely, and have a wonderful evening.
