The English Language

From Where did english come? Proto-Indo-European Language –1 world language

Old English 449-1100 Anglo-Saxons from area now called Germany invaded the British Isles, changing the Celtic language.

Middle English 1100-1500 Normans from the region of France invade the British Isles, giving birth to the Middle English Period.

Modern English 1500-present The birth of the printing press changed English once again. Think—King James Bible, William Shakespeare— (ie. spaketh, thou, thee,) evolved to what we speak today.
