Mise en Scene Props; Baseball Bats Fake blood Weapons

Costume; The people will wear scruffy, old, dishevelled clothing to create the effect of being isolated and not living in an ordinary world, this connotes the typical genre of ordinary person and so wearing ordinary clothes. The colour of the costumes will mostly be dark greys/greens. The costumes will remain the same in each scene because it is filmed within the same day, so the characters will not need to change and the costumes will remain the same throughout the whole OTS.

Makeup; The makeup they use will just be the protagonist looks quite dirty, to imply the fact that he has been living on his own for a long period of time. They will need to look unclean as though they are fighting for their survival.

Location; We have decided to film our opening title sequence in a woods, to really emphasise the fact that he is on his own and hiding from what he thinks is an apocalypse. We thought by filming in a woods it would show the character as quite isolated, which is typical of the thriller genre. We are going to film behind Withdean Stadium, in Brighton.

Lighting/Colour; We will be filming in the day, to show that there aren’t any people around to really convey how he is on his own. We will use a lot of blue/grey scales to emphasise how the world hasn’t really got any human life and the to create tension within the film. The costume colours will also be very basic colours, like dark greens and greys, to compliment the lighting of the setting. It shows everything is quite dark and bland. This may subtly suggest that the lighting represents the lack of life on earth and also that he is possibly living on a camera set, which is part of the psychological experiment.
