Holidays and celebrations in Macedonia Webquest Holidays and celebrations in Macedonia Designed and created by teacher Ljubica Ruzinska Primary school “Blaze Konevski”- Skopje Subject: English language Grade V

Introduction Hello students, The magazine “Project Weekly” has asked our school to prepare a poster which will introduce the holidays and celebrations that are celebrated in Macedonia. You will work in a small groups to learn about different holiday celebration which are popular in our country. After researching your assigned holiday, you and your group will create a poster to teach others in the class about the holiday you’ve studied.

The Task The job of each group is to: 1. Each group will be given a specific holiday celebration which you will research using the resources listed in this WebQuest. 2. Answer questions about the holiday you’re studying. 3. Create a poster to teach others about your holiday, using the information you’ve gathered. 4. Present your poster to the class to teach everyone else about your holiday.

The Process Read over the questions with your group, so you will know what information you need to find. Visit the websites listed under your holiday to learn about it. Write down answers to the questions. Create a poster to teach others about your holiday. The poster must include answers to the questions, written in complete sentences. It should also contain pictures, which can be printouts or drawings. Practice your presentation with your group. Make sure each person has a speaking part. Present your holiday poster and information to the class.

Evaluation Each group presentation and poster will be evaluated by the other groups in the Evaluation table using the Analytical list of criteria; In the end each student will fill in the Self- assessment list about his/her work in the group as well as answer the Self- reflection questions.
