Rosa Parks Elementary TAKE ACTION CLUB: TAC Responsibilities Teacher + Parent Volunteer: Set up Free the Children Kick Off Assembly in October Send out “application” for the TAC Board to teachers in grades 3-5 Choose 2-3 students in each class grades 3-5 based on writing prompt of “Why do you want to be in the TAC?” (35 total) Meet with TAC Board once/month to guide them on how to plan out the school year of campaigns Send corresponding curriculum links to all teachers (K-5) as campaigns are determined One person to oversee TAC meeting once/month (hands off, TAC meeting run by youth board members) TAC Board: Works as a team to determine campaigns for the school year Meet with board once/month and club once/month = time commitment is 2x/month Must be able to commit to the Board Meeting Dates which is when planning will happen Lead TAC meetings: communicates ideas for campaigns, poster making, campaign organization (ie. coin drive, bake sale, dance, or just awareness) Bring information & excitement back to classroom and school community Has the possibility of receiving tickets to We Day Event in the spring May only hold board position for one year Must be: grades 3-5, capable of taking on more than standard workload, passionate about making a difference, a team player, caring & responsible Board comprised of 35 members, 2-3 students from each 3rd -5th grade class for equal representation TAC Club Members: TAC meets once/month to work on different campaigns for both local & global service initiatives Hands on work to run campaigns ie. poster making, hanging signs, working directly on/at campaigns (coin drive, bake sale, dances or just awareness…) Must be: in grades 3-5, passionate about making a difference, a team player Membership is not limited, but must adhere to the above responsibilities Rosa Parks School Community: All teachers grades K-5 receive corresponding curriculum information in connection with different campaigns that will support “Local & Global Citizenship Skills” Entire school has the ability to take part in every campaign ie: coin drives, bake sales, dances, general education and awareness of local & global issues Involvement is voluntary The Take Action Club is a service club in partnership with www.freethechildren.com, sponsored by the Rosa Parks PTSA.
