Narrative Text

Narrative Text Narrative text is often fiction (not true) It tells a story. It contains a setting. It contains a plot. It contains characters. It contains a conflict and a resolution. It contains a theme.

Expository Text Expository text is non-fiction (true). It seeks to explain or inform. The information can be verified as true. Persuasive Text With persuasive text the author tries to convince the reader to adopt a particular opinion or perform a certain action. The writer takes a stand on an issue.
