NJ-781st Corps Acronyms/Abbreviations ABU stands for Airman Battle Uniform AF stands for Air Force AFI stands for Air Force Instruction AFJROTC stands for Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps ASI stands for Aerospace Science Instructor Lt Col stands for Lieutenant Colonel NJ-781st stands for the first AFJROTC unit established in 1978 in New Jersey PT stands for Physical Training SASI stands for Senior Aerospace Science Instructor SMSgt stands for Senior Master Sergeant

NJ-781st Corps Expectations Cadets will run the program and act as role models in and outside of the AFJROTC classroom Comply with school and AFJROTC rules, policies, and standards in and out of uniform Wear the assigned uniform weekly and adhere to established Air Force grooming standards or risk disenrollment Keep the uniform clean by taking it to the cleaners and immediately inform logistics personnel of any uniform issues

NJ-781st Corps Expectations Respect instructors and fellow cadets regardless of differences in backgrounds, capabilities, and opinions Respect and accept that the cadet leadership has a job to do and intend to improve you and the unit Drill or assist in Drill as directed PT or assist in PT as directed If assigned multiple flights, take tests, wear the uniform, and PT with the first flight that convenes for the day or week unless otherwise approved by the SASI

NJ-781st Corps Expectations Routinely read classroom whiteboard & JROTC website for announcements, assignments and key info Turn off and put away all electronic devices unless otherwise approved by the SASI or ASI Understand that being a part of the program is a privilege, not a right; individual cadets adapt and comply to be a part of a special group of high school students, not the other way around

NJ-781st Corps Disenrollment Policy Disenrollment from AFJROTC is determined by the SASI after coordination with school administration and parents/guardians. Cadets may be removed from the program for: Failure to maintain acceptable standards (includes uniform wear, grooming and behavior outside the classroom) Ineptitude or indifference to training (includes not participating in required aspects of the program like uniform wear, drill and PT/wellness) Disciplinary reasons (e.g. multiple detentions or any suspensions) Failure to remain enrolled in school (includes extended home instruction situations) Any other reason deemed appropriate by the SASI

NJ-781st Corps Grooming Standards AFI 36-2903 Below are examples of acceptable hair standards for AFJROTC Cadets/Students. Keep in mind that this standard is required in order to maintain a professional look and meet requirements for wearing the Air Force’s Blues, ABU, and Physical Training Uniform.

NJ-781st Corps Air Force JROTC Issued Uniforms AFI 36-2903 Female Class C Uniform Male Class A Uniform Female Class A Uniform Female Class B Uniform Male Class B & C Uniform Physical Training Uniform Class D Uniform (Only graduates of the Cadet Leadership Course)

NJ-781st Corps Uniform & Grooming Expectation Review No uniform make-up unless an excused absence Otherwise a grade of “zero” Wear on established day Wear as specified by the instructor staff Keep your shoes polished and shined Uniform wear show cadets/students belong to the AFJROTC Program Uniform and grooming Inspections are once a week Weekly uniform/grooming inspection is to maintain standards Professional image, attention to detail, and self discipline Hair must meet Air Force Standards in uniform Keep hair clean and neat

NJ-781st Corps Uniform & Grooming Expectations Review Wear the uniform properly and with pride Cadet responsible for a neat, clean, and professional military image in uniform A blue issued belt to all cadets Uniform wear key elements are Neatness, Cleanliness, Safety, and Military Image Dry clean at least every 2-3 uniform wears

NJ-781st Physical Fitness Standards All Cadet Parents/Guardians will sign a Health/Wellness Consent Form Cadets must wear issued AF PT Uniform
