Key Terms GPA Grade Point Average: a calculated average of the letter grades you have earned Unweighted (ranging from 0 – all F’s – to 4 – all A’s) Weighted (extra points for rigor, including honors, dual enrollment, AICE, and AP) Cumulative Transcript A record of your academic accomplishments, including all courses taken in high school, as well as high school courses taken in middle school (e.g. Algebra I, Spanish) Lists every class you have taken by semester, as well as the grades you earned in each class

Why does GPA Matter? It’s the most important factor for college admissions + test scores, academic rigor, extracurricular activities, essays, letters of recommendation GPA required for graduation: 2.0 GPA required to play sports: GPA required for Dual Enrollment 3.0
