What is a Rainforest? A rainforest is a place where plants and animals are able to live naturally. It is also where animals roam, play, and eat.
LOCATION of the rainforest Most rain forest are found in South America. There also rain forests in Africa, Asia and Australia. They are located around the equator.
The Emergent Layer The Emergent layer is the highest layer. Butterflies, parrots and harpy eagles live in the Emergent Layer. Pygmy Gliders and Scarlet Macaws also live in the Emergent layer.
Canopy Layer The Canopy Layer is the middle layer of the trees. Jaguars, three toed sloths, bees, spider monkeys,keel-billed toucans and the green iguanas live in the canopy layer. Snakes slither in the canopy layer.
Understory Layer The Understory is also called the shrub layer. Spiders, Rose Periwinkles, Emerald Tree Boa and the red eyed tree frog live in the understory. There are also bromelaid flowers.
Forest Floor The forest floor is named the herb layer. Earth worms, rafflesias, insects, snakes, butterflies, ant eaters and red eyed tree frogs live on the forest floor. Forest Floor

Deforestation Deforestation is when people destroy the rain forest. If people cut down rain forest trees we will have less oxygen! They are cutting down all the the trees in the rain forest too. If we recycle we can save 50% of latex. Deforestation
People of the Rain Forest Rain forest people have many different traditions. They hunt for jaguars and ocelots for their fur and make their fur into clothes. They know ways to use rain forest products without harming it. People of the Rain Forest
