Attendance 90% Attendance Rule In order for a student to earn credit in a course, they must have a passing grade and have attended that course for 90% or more of the days the class met during the semester.

Attendance Exceptions to the 90% Attendance Rule Absences for these reason do not count against the student for earning credit: Observing religious holy days Attending required court appearances Attending a government office to complete required paperwork for the student’s US citizenship Participating in a naturalization ceremony Serving as an election clerk A temporary absence resulting from health care professionals if that student commences classes or returns to school on the same day of the appointment

Attendance Why does my student need a note then? Notes create ‘excused absences’ which keep students out of court for truancy. A person commits an offense when he/she “fails to attend school on 10 or more days or part of days within a six-month period in the same school year or on three or more days or parts of days within a four-week period.”

Starting a College Transcript Dropping and failing college classes can prevent a student from getting financial aid in the future. Don’t fail your courses. Don’t’ drop your courses. Taking courses that don’t apply to your major can effect the amount of financial aid a student is eligible for in the future. Don’t experiment and take courses you don’t need.

Discipline CRCA students will be held accountable to both BISD’s Student Code of Conduct and ACC’s Student Standards of Conduct and Disciplinary Process. DAEP placements – Gateway – will severely and negatively impact a student’s ability to graduate from CRCA with an associate’s degree from Austin Community College.

Summer Bridge Program Reserve the dates! June 10th – 13th and 17th – 20th 8:30 – 12:00 each day Required for each CRCA student Summer Bridge Bus Routes are on the website

Summer TSI Camp Reserve the dates! July 29th through August 2nd 8:30 to 12:00 each day In order to take college courses at Austin Community College, CRCA students must pass the TSI reading and writing tests by the end of March in their 9th grade year.
