Science/ Social Studies What’s happening in… First Grade August 17-August 21 Reminders Math Tuesday and Wednesday is P.E. Please make sure your child has on tennis shoes. Return Back to School packet Sign up for Remind This week students will be working on chapter 1: Counting to 10. We are currently working on comparing numbers. The chapter test will be at the end of this week. Reading This week we are continuing learning about read to self and the three ways to read a book. We are building our stamina to prepare for stations. We are currently at 5 minutes. We have also started Reading Street. You may see your child bring home their books. Birthdays Jackson Barrick-August 10th Bailey Knight-August 10th Writing This week students will continue learning to spell phonetically. If your child is writing at home and comes to a word they don’t know please have them sound it out and underline it. We will also be learning how to write informative pieces.
