5: A more considerate people 1 Timothy 5 Future Church 5: A more considerate people 1 Timothy 5

The church in the future will not be the same! Chapter 5 Chapter 4 A more considerate community Chapter 3 A more appreciative community Chapter 2 A more aspiring community Chapter 1 A more worshipful community A more loving community The church at Ephesus with Jesus as King Your Part in this The church at Ephesus

God wants you to treat other Christians as family Don’t dismiss the older generation Treat them like you would a father or a mother Treat your peers like siblings Look after widows Give the widows a role

God wants people to have a purpose For most that can be found in faith and work and families For the bereaved (widows) that could be starting a new family or being devoted to God’s family For older people God does NOT have a scrap heap

God wants you to take your role seriously Elders and older people Widows Timothy, the leader Don’t show partiality to any group Don’t go for obvious answers Keep your standards high Lighten up on yourself

God wants you to appreciate people Especially Christians Especially the elderly Especially yourself! Becoming a considerate people is not found in our promises and our words, but in our attitudes to others – especially the elderly and people NOT like us
