Time Management Workshop Distance Learning: Do you have Time? Welcome, the topic of my workshop is Time Management for potential distance learners.

1.Distance Learners: Who are they? “An estimated 1.2 million students in the United States-seven percent of all post-secondary students-enrolled in wholly online degree programs in 2005” (Kamberg, Mary-Lane. (2007, Mar/Apr). The evolution of continuing education. Women in Business, 59, 22-24.)

2.Distance Learners: Who are they? Adult distance learners have or may have barriers that prevent them pursuing a “traditional” style of education.

3.Distance Learners: Who are they? Distance learners are diverse: Generally adult learners, mature, employed, and have family obligations Higher motivation Take responsibility for their own education Self-directed Learn in a variety of ways Take control over their learning (Sacchanand, Chutima. Objective of Workshop This workshop is designed to assist potential distance students in time management skills in preparing for learning through the distance education format. Participants will gain knowledge to effectively manage their time as a distance learner.

Diverse Learning Styles This workshop meets the needs of diverse learners by allowing participants to experience, reflect, and participate through a variety of activities. Each step reinforces the next step to help participants learn strategies for managing their time.

Conclusion By the end of this workshop, participants should be able to assess their time management skills more effectively by careful planning, organizing, prioritizing, and setting goals.
