September 29, 2017 Out of Office: None this week:) Make sure you are completing your daily plan. Make sure you are attending all required class connect sessions. Dear Students and Families, Happy Friday! We hope that you all had a wonderful week and are looking forward to a fun and relaxing weekend. We have enjoyed reading your work samples and are very proud of your hard work! We will continue to focus on writing and writing skills in your ELA class connect sessions. As a reminder, homeroom teachers are completing required conference calls. You should expect a phone call sometime over the next few weeks to discuss your student’s progress in the OLS and other assessments. We look forward to speaking with you! If we reach your voicemail, please give us a call back as soon as possible. Please be sure to log into your USA Test Prep account each week to complete these activities as they do count as a grade. You may attempt the assignment 3 times. Also, you should be completing the items listed on your daily plan and checking your grades in the gradebook to make sure you are not behind on any assignments. Keep up the great work! Please use Firefox web browser for optimal OLS performance! **Please note: To access USA test prep you will need to go to usatestprep.com. Do not use the USA test prep link in your OLS** Out of Office: None this week:) October 10/3-10/5 PSO Picnic 10/9  No School 10/25  Last Day of Quarter 1 10/26  First Day of Quarter 2 November 11/10 Big Game Deadline

Read Your Way to the Big Game! Your child’s ability to read is a critical predictor of educational and lifelong success. Help establish a strong literacy foundation for your child and support the Gamecock & Clemson championship traditions by participating in the South Carolina Department of Education’s 2017  Read Your Way to the Big Game contest. All pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade students who read six books will qualify to win tickets to the Clemson vs. South Carolina game on November 25.  Once students have completed their readings, they should email the list of books read to their teacher. And, then enter to win by using the online entry form. Winners will receive four tickets and pre-game sideline passes to the Clemson vs. South Carolina game. The deadline for submissions is November 10, 2017. For more information and to download the reading log: http://screads.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Parent-Letter-Combined-1.pdf Once you have completed your reading log go here to enter to win: http://screads.org/entry-form/

Class Connect Sessions are on your plan! Please be sure to attend. Check your Weekly Plan in the OLS You should see both Required and Optional Sessions on your schedule. If a session is Required: Attendance is mandatory. If you miss a session, your Learning Coach will need to contact the teacher for that class If a session is Optional: Attendance is NOT mandatory, but encouraged. Study Hall/Live Help Sessions are available for you to meet with your teacher for help with a particular subject area. These sessions are optional.

***Starting 9/18, you will see weekly required USA Tesprep Assignments. They will always appear on Mondays and will be due on Fridays. If you do not do well on the assignment, you may retake it up to 3 times:)
