Sentences Set 1

This is a big grade! You will need a piece of paper. Title it: If you’d like to keep this in a spiral-bond notebook (do not tear it out)…feel free. I’d suggest it Title it: Expressive Sentences – Final Presentation You will end up writing out 50 sentences after all is said and done. This is a big grade!

How it works: You will get 10 sentences a day You will get them in categories (WH, YN, RhQ, Y, N) You will need to write the English down first. Give yourself space between each number. Then you can attempt to write the gloss. We will go over them together – I will give you the proper way for each sentence. You will take them with you – practice them. In a few weeks you will be asked to present some of these sentences.

Facial Expression & NMS You will be asked to turn in all 50 sentence (that is one grade) You will then pick a random set of sentences (1 of each kind), they will be in English, you will present them to the class in ASL. (that is a different grade) For Example, Sean picks a set of sentences he chose #1 – WH-set, #4 – Y/N set, #7 Rhq-Set, #2 – Affirmative, #6 – Negative He will have a minute in the hot seat then he will sign them. I will be looking for: Sign Clarity Sign Production ASL Structure Facial Expression & NMS Pace (speed of signing)
