What happened to Stadacona? Cartier reported they were in conflict with another First Nation Group. Possibly the Haudenosaunee? Cartier reported an epidemic among the Stadacona’s (small pox or another disease) SMALL POX: A disease that causes the skin to break out (pox), accompanied by a high fever. All we know is that seventy years after Cartier had left, nothing of Stadacona or Hochelega remained.
