A Sensor Code Must Be Entered Or Patient Will Need to Calibrate an Average of Once Per Day for the 10 Day Wear

In our clinical trail data, entering in a calibration helped improve the accuracy of a sensor only 6% of the time based on data on file. A number and arrow is not shown less than 3% of the time during a 10 day sensor session period.

These are three separate profiles, showing that in some cases the impact of calibration can be improved, but in other cases may have no effect or even make the accuracy worse. Overall message here is patients don't need to calibrate. As you can see in figure A calibration did help the CGM align more closely to the YSI value, but didn't significantly improve clinical accuracy (87.1 to 98.6). And as you can see in figure B because calibration technique is often questionable at best then you can see why it had a deleterious effect.
