Who is ? TILP is an institute of members of the localisation community. TILP is owned by its individual members.

Aims Provide professional certification through the Certified Localisation Professional (CLP) programme. Be the representative body of the localisation professionals. Provide the infrastructure for a range of activities supporting the development of the industry.

Important milestones 13 March 2002 –First meeting of the founding members of TILP. 30 July 2002 –TILP is formally registered as a non-profit organisation to develop professional practices in localisation globally. 12 May 2003 –The Institute of Localisation Professionals (TILP) and the Professional Association for Localization (PAL) announce merger. May – September 2008 –The Certified Localisation Professional Programme (CLP) level 1was offered online and onsite at 11 locations worldwide: 83 people got the certification June – December 2009 –The Certified Localisation Professional Programme (CLP) level 1 was offered online and onsite at 13 locations worldwide: 112 people got the certification April 2011 – February 2011 –The Certified Localisation Professional Programme (CLP) level 1 was offered online and onsite at 15 locations worldwide: 100 people got the certification

The Certified Localisation Professional (CLP) Programme CLP is a globally operating professional certification system, based on requirements established in consultation with key industry players CLP offers entry-level, advanced and professional qualifications: a career path for professionals CLP certification allows professionals greater mobility and provides companies with a globally operating professional standard when hiring TILP offers CLP accreditation to audited course and training providers

Membership Student membership (65 a year) Associate membership (75 a year) –Open to any individual with an interest in localisation Professional membership (250 a year) –Open to localisation professionals only. Entry is based on the recommendation of the Professional Membership Review Committees (PMRC). The TILP Council adjudicates applications. –The designatory letters of Professional Members of the Institute are MILP. Fellows (250 a year) –Nominated by TILP.
