Late / Call Off Policy

Late Policy… In the event that you are going to be late, you must contact the office. The office will then contact the consumer and family. Under no circumstances are you to contact the consumer, if you contact the consumer a written warning will be issued.

Call Off Policy… If calling off sick you need to provide Family Care with an 8 hour notice. If you cannot provide an 8 hour notice it is your responsibility to provide Family Care with a doctor’s excuse within 3 days of the call off or a written warning will be issued. Call the main number, there is always an office staff member on call 24/7.

Responsibility… Leave a message if you don’t reach anyone at Family Care. If you don’t receive a call back from Family Care within 15 minutes, it is your responsibility to call back until you have reached someone in the office. You need to speak with someone from the office to ensure your consumers are covered or you will receive a written warning.

Expectable time off… Employees will be issued 3 personal days, and 3 sick days per calendar year. Any other time off will have to be approved by Family Care or a written warning will be issued. Appointments, non-emergency time off needs to be scheduled in advance. They must be scheduled before the schedule comes out. - Refer to Request Time Off Policy.

Submitting paperwork… If you need time off, you must fill out a request time off form at the office. - Refer to Request Time Off Policy.

Knowledge… Employees are never to call the consumer when calling off, the office will handle any call off. Family Care has a strict call off policy due to the fact that you are dealing with people on an everyday basis not products. Please help Family Care provide the best care possible to our consumers.
