The testes are the glands that secrete testosterone and make spermatozoa (sper-mat-uh-ZOH-uh). The epididymis (epi-DID-ih-mis), epi- meaning above and didymis- meaning testes, is the tube above the testes. Both are located in the scrotum. Other sperm-carrying tubes include the vas deferens (vas DEF-ehr-enz) which is the tube cut during vasectomy, the urethra, and the ejaculatory duct. The accessory glands that add fluid to the sperm to make semen include the seminal vesicles, prostate, and bulbourethral glands. The rest of the system is the delivery structure called the penis which carries the semen through the urethra and into the female.
