Basic informations DEFINITION OF THE TARGET: «social enterprises» Possibly all legal forms of SEs, according to the EC definition, in practice: associations, foundations, non-profit companies, specially social cooperatives, etc. (except cooperatives in general). With employment and enterprenuership activities, and social goals. METHODOLOGY - Sources during desk research: open access data, former researches and analysies, results of scientific studies 3 focus groups interviews during 2017. october – one with experts and researchers, one with SEs (10 participants) and one other with members of the supporting, financing ecosysteme

The main information about the status of the SEs in your country - Lack of usable statistical data about de facto operating SEs Nearly 13,000 organizations from the whole non-profit sector, with employment activites BUT the real number of the existing SEs, is approx. less than 3,000. (Mainly social cooperatives.) Lack of special regulations (only for the social cooperatives) Lack of strategy documents, only some employment policy goals concentrated to social economy The project based life of the Hungarian SEs. Lot of EU funds in the last decade, but not yet built ecosysteme in financing and supporting (mainly non-profit activities).

The main challenges of SEs SHORTAGE OF CAPITAL: Not only financial capital, but knowledge and social-relation capital PROBLEMS OF THE MARKET: Knowledge, products, marketing, custumers, branding etc. ENTERPRENUERSHIP ACTIVITIES: Problems of leadership and management (Balance between the business and social activities.) SHORTAGE OF SUPPORTING AND FINANCING: Almost absolutly missing possibilities for financing LACK OF STRATEGIC ECOSYSTEME: special legislation for special needs of SEs?

The supporting needs of SEs FINANCING FUND SPECIAL LEGISLATION AND STRATEGIES SPECIAL BRAND AND MARKETING CAMPAING Individualized development and advising program, as a part of a knowledge and information centre ORGANIZATION OR A NETWORK for experience exchanges and partnership building

Reccomendations and other relevant informations How the SENTINEL project can serve this needs? - Regarding the policy, regulations, financial funds and subsidies, the SENTINEL project partners can primarily make suggestions for policy makers and stakeholders. - Strengthening the information transfer, entrepreneurial skills, market access, social sensitization, as well as building relationships and networks, are the themes where in later stage of the project activities can be carried out.
