Presentation transcript:

August 2017 Congressional Recess House of Representatives will be in their home districts from August 1 to August 31st Senate will be in their home states from August 16 – August 31st Plan a site visit to highlight your SCSEP!!

National Employ the Older Worker Week NEOWW will be September 24 – 29th Start planning a site visit now!

Poll Who has previously planned a site visit and will do so in August and September? Who has never planned a site visit and would like support and help from SSAI?

Messaging Every day SCSEP helps Make America Great Again! From July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2017, 77% of the SCSEP participants nationwide were younger than 65. SCSEP is serving baby boomers or the “young-old” who still have many years of productivity

SCSEP helps make America Great Again by… Providing jobs in rural communities where most employers have left or there are no more major employers With the part-time, temporary jobs SCSEP provides, workers 55+ are able to continue to live and support these communities by paying mortgages and rents, spending money at the grocery store and local gas station, and staying active in community life

SCSEP makes it possible for grandparents to help care for their grandchildren SCSEP participants are low-income baby-boomers who, through unexpected life events, now meet the program’s income –eligibility requirements

SCSEP participants are veterans, who have served in America’s armed forces and helped protect our nation’s freedoms No other program (federal or other) does what SCSEP does

Lastly, SCSEP is a great value… I am working on the national turnover rate. While the cost per slot per year is $9,697, one slot serves more than one person per year. In PY2015, on average 2 people are served with the funding for one slot
