Objective ‘Streamlining’: reduce Member States’ burden for reporting accidents data that are available from other data collections Take advantage of high-quality transport safety data collected by the European Commission’s specialised transport safety agencies and disseminate via Eurostat’s reference database
New data sources Horizontal topic: 4 modes are concerned: Rail - taking advantage of detailed EUAR data Road – use detailed data available in the CARE database Air – detailed data on accidents and accident victims from EASA Maritime – exploit data stemming from EMCIP (European Marine Casualty Information Platform) maintained by EMSA

Rail accidents data For Rail accidents were collected with Annex H of Regulation 91/2003 Annex H does not exist in the amended Rail Regulation An Administrative Agreement was signed with EUAR to provide Eurostat with the required rail accident data As Turkey is not member of EUAR, they will still send accident data to Eurostat
