Virginia Association of Science Teachers (VAST) Professional Development Institute November 2017 The 2017 Virginia Association of Science Teachers (VAST) Professional Development Institute was held at the Hotel Roanoke on November 16-18, 2017.  Over 800 formal and informal educators from across the Commonwealth attended. NASA Langley activities included: Tours of the Langley Centennial Trailer and visit with Spacey Casey Pre-conference workshop on Elementary GLOBE 8 concurrent sessions hosted by SD Education and Office of Education staff Exhibitor booth with over 2000 handouts and resources 6 Aerosol Teacher Resource Kits were raffled to participants who fully engage in the various NASA activities VAST presented the Community Partnership Award to NASA Langley in recognition of the continued support of VAST by the Science Directorate Education Team. The award was accepted by Dave Young, Director of the Science Directorate. Top: NASA LaRC Science Directorate staff distributed over 2000 resources to teacher at our Exhibitor Booth Bottom: Teachers attending all NASA events were entered into a drawing to receive a free Aerosols Kit.
