Semester: A division of the academic year. We have 2 semesters in high school. The first, or A semester, consists of the 1 st and 2 nd nine weeks and the second, or B semester, consists of the 3 rd and 4 th nine weeks. Credit: Successful completion of a course. Students will earn.5 credit per passed course for a total of 3.5 credits per semester or 7 credits for the whole year. A Course: First semester course B Course: Second semester course
