Slide one Wales Co-operative Centre is a not-for-profit co-operative development agency in Wales. It is the largest co-operative development body in the UK.[1]Since inception it has helped over 1000 businesses across Wales. The Centre was established in 1982 by the Wales TUC to provide business support to co-operatives in Wales. We believe that how we do things is just as important as what we do. The Co-operative is run by a board of 12 elected members whose aim is for Wales to be the leader for co-operative thinking and action.

Cydweithredu i Ofalu Care to Co-operate Funded by Welsh Government Helping implement Social Services & Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 Free service Our aim is to Enable citizens and service providers to come together to develop a co-operative approach to the delivery of local social care and well-being services What is Care to Cooperate? Care to Cooperate was established to lead the way in making the policy drivers of “co-design and co-delivery” a local reality in social care in Wales. The project supports The empowerment of service users, carers, family members and paid staff to work co-operatively to develop, design and deliver improved social care and well-being services. We work with local authorities, health board commissioners and existing third sector providers to improve co-operation and improve the delivery of community based services We support transformation of services that in line with the objectives of the Social Services and Wellbeing Act (2014) We achieve this by providing business support for emerging and new start co-operatives and social enterprises delivering social care. Develop on-line tools and resources to support the development of new co- operatives and social enterprises involved in well-being and social care. Support Wales-wide networking opportunities for co-operatives/social enterprises involved in social care. 7 Principles of Co-operatives Anyone can join Every member has an equal vote Every member has a say in how money is used No-one except the members can make decisions Help people to learn, gain new skills and find information Co-operatives help each other Care about the community Direct payment recipients can form a co-operative, pool their money and employ PA’s. PA’s form a Co-operative that provides well being activities as well as traditional domiciliary care services

Cydweithredu i Ofalu Care to Co-operate Care to Co-operate have supported the Moncare Board through our Road to Co-operation. This process helps the founder members of a Co-operative understand their roles and responsibilities, decide on their structure, develop their business plan and understand how to involve their members. The Co-operative approach means that members are involved in the decision making, and at an AGM, members have the opportunity to become Board members.
