Reassociation Counter May 2003 doc.: IEEE 802.11-03/xxxr0 November 2003 Reassociation Counter Lars Falk TeliaSonera Email: lars.p.falk@teliasonera.com Lars Falk, TeliaSonera Falk and Jevinger, TeliaSonera

November 2003 Proposal Add a counter (ReassociationCount) that keeps track on the number of reassociations done within a certain time period (ReassociationCountPeriod) The ReassociationCount parameters should be available both in the terminal and on the network side For details, see Word version 11-03-737r0 Lars Falk, TeliaSonera

May 2003 doc.: IEEE 802.11-03/xxxr0 November 2003 Background The number of reassociations done are connected to the number of handovers done. Frequent handovers may be disadvantageous for e.g. real time applications. May be better to make a handover form the WLAN to a WWAN (if possible). The use of ReassociationCount and ReassociationCountPeriod is up to the implementation Lars Falk, TeliaSonera Falk and Jevinger, TeliaSonera

November 2003 Motion Move to instruct the editor to incorporate the Reassociation Counter proposal of 03/737r0 into the TGk draft where appropriate and, if necessary, modify the text to be consistent with the draft. Move: Lars Falk Second: Yes: No: Abstain: Lars Falk, TeliaSonera
