Welcome back to the 2018-2019 school year. Mrs. Vasquez 1st Grade Teacher

Arrival and Dismissal Arrival - School begins at 8am everyday. If you arrive before 7:45, please have your students go and sit in the hall. After 7:45, supervision will begin in the classroom. Tardies -  If a student is not in line or in the classroom at the 8am bell, they will be sent to the office to get a tardy slip. After 4 tardies they will receive a detention. So please get your students to school on time. Dismissal -  Dismissal is at 3pm on a regular day. On a mini-day the students are dismissed at 12:15. First grade sits on the black top closest to the staff parking lot where you walk in. If you are coming through the traffic pattern please discuss with your student the characteristics of your car, or the car of the person assigned to pick them up. Also remind students not to forget to let their teacher know who they are leaving with. Make sure to pick up students by no later than 3:15pm. If you are running late, your student will be taken to the hall and there will be a $5 charge for every 15 min. after 3:15pm.

( snack cards are $20 ) Lunch – students have lunch time everyday at 11:45. Please make sure to either pay for a lunch card or pack them a lunch. ( lunch cards are $40 )

Additional Classes Computers – Every Monday P.E – Every Monday and Wednesday Library -   Every Thursdays Music -  Every Tuesday

Accelerated Reader When students go to the library they will be checking out a reading book that they are to read daily with you. Then every  Wednesday, students will be tested on the book read. A.R. is going to be used as part of their reading grade. Students will be graded on their comprehension of the books read, which is calculated by the program. Students will also be given an A.R. goal each quarter, which is the number of books they are to read according to their individual reading levels. I will start grading A.R. after the first quarter to make sure they have had plenty of practice with the program and fully understand what they need to do.
