Edict of Nantes: Why Did It Happen? Henry of Navarre signed the Edict of Nantes in 1598 The Edict of Nantes was made to temporarily stop the religious wars between the Protestants and the Roman Catholics The wars between the Protestants and the Roman Catholics had torn France apart

Edict of Nantes: Where Did It Happen? The Edict of Nantes took place on April 13th, 1598 in France

Edict of Nantes: What Was The End Result The end result of the Edict of Nantes was the Calvinist Protestants or Huguenots gained substantial rights in France which was highly recognized as a Catholic country.

Edict of Nantes: Who Was Involved? The Edict of Nantes involved the Huguenots and King Henry IV to give the Huguenots rights in France.

What Did Henry of Navarre do? Henry was raised a protestant but when he became King of France in 1589 at the age of 37 he converted to Catholicism. Henry of Navarre or King Henry IV issued the Edict of Nantes in 1598 to foster religious tolerance. He unfortunately was killed on May 14, 1610.
