Finish the Story (ending) Narrative Finish the Story (ending)

When you are asked to “finish” the story or “create” an ending Remember to be consistent with the writer P.O.V. – Keep it the same (1st or 3rd) Don’t make extreme changes to the characters’ personalities Keep the major conflict in mind Keep the same tone as the writer does (the attitude the writer has toward the subject)

Focus on what the question/prompt is asking/requiring If prompt says focus on character trait – stress that in your ending Dialogue/conversation – need to stress that

Narrative Rubric – 1-4 points Fully Answers Prompt Stays focused and consistent with story elements Clear characters/character traits Clear P.O.V. Clear sequence of events Varied sentences with good transitions Descriptive details Dialogue Standard English Shows insightful understanding of text and prompt (separates a “3” from a “4”)
