Fall Culmination Project

What do the components look like? Component 1: History of Rockets Component 2: Rocket Companies/ Business Plan Component 3: Rocket Construction Component 4: Rocket Analysis/Redesign Component 5: Design Inclinometer Component 6: Launch Component 7: Culmination

Component 1: History of Rockets We are starting this week. You and your group will be assigned an area of history to study and gather research on. You will need to know the information for your presentation day.

Component 2: Rocket Companies/Budget You will be assigned a group and you will need to form an engineering company. In the company you will each have a role to play. Create a budget to build your rocket. Create a budget so that you can build and buy rocket fuel. You will be drawing a sketch, scale drawing, begin digital rendering of rocket, and develop your budget.

Component 3: Rocket Construction Learn about how rockets work (Physics) Newton’s Laws Construct according to budget

Component 4: Rocket Analysis/ Redesign Center of Mass/ Center of Pressure Test Swing Test Redesign (Think about your budget that’s why you don’t want to spend it all the first time)

Component 5:Design Inclinometer Altitude Tracking Test

Component 6: Launch/Analyze data Launching Rocket Complete post launch results (calculations to determine altitude)

Component 7: Culmination Design Board (You will have everything done to be put on your board at this point. You will just need to create the board) Practice Essential Questions
