Moving On… S L A N T

Remember our Objective We will write an argument to support claims with clear reasons and relevant evidence.

“Rethinking Sleep” Today you will complete a writing assessment individually. The assessment covers some of the same skills and content about effective arguments and thinking about sleep as in the unit. I will be assessing your work based on the quality of their textual evidence in your answer to the assessment prompt and how clearly you summarize Randall’s claims, reasons, and evidence.

“Rethinking Sleep” Independent Activity: Write an essay that summarizes Randall’s argument and its reasons and evidence. Then explain how Randall’s argument is made more or less credible by his sources. Remember to: -Clearly state the argument that Randall is making. -Summarize Randall’s claims, reasons, and evidence. -Support your statements with evidence from the text. -Explain textual evidence you include.
