Lesson Plans The following is OPTIONAL Contains some elements to introduce Pathways to our students Combines instructional pieces and student driven activities Allows for differentiation and covers multiple learning styles

Pathways - to High school and beyond Pre and Post Presentation Lesson Plans

Objectives & Outcomes Learners will learn and explore their skills & interests, learn of the various pathways in high school, and possible career options.

Teacher: Projector, computer, speakers Students: computers/Chromebooks Board’s login and passwords for CC Career Cruising and/or MBP- MyBluePrint Possibly: editing software, camera, cellphones (with permission) Materials Needed: Teacher: Projector, computer, speakers

Opening to Lesson Begin a discussion with the class by asking students about some of their “career” choice at the age of 5? (what did they want to be?) What were some of the reasons they wanted to be a...firefighter, cashier, princess,.....) Has that “career” choice changed much since that time? Why?

Let them know that they are going to be on a career path journey Let them know that they are going to be on a career path journey. All they need to do is be honest with themselves and open to the possibilities. This is an individual journey and one that they can use as a means to map out their pathway in high school and beyond
