Assignment This assignment requires you to write a 2250 word original report addressing the following areas. In addressing this report you should ensure that you consider: Compare and analyse the supply chains for a major event of your choice. This could include Olympic Games, music festivals, sporting or charity events.

Assignment In addressing this report you should ensure that you consider: The overall design of the supply chains (25% of the mark) The importance of quality and end consumers (20% of the mark) Timing and Cost (25% of the mark) Sustainability (20% of the mark) Referencing and layout (10% of the mark)

Introduction Set the scene, what is the event, where is the event how frequent is it. Then state the supply chains to be compared and analysed. You can choose any supply chains you wish to, as long as you compare and contrast them. You could do the products at the event, services at the event, the event itself. It is entirely up to you as long as you compare analyse and stick to the four elements, design of supply chains, importance of quality and consumer, timings and cost and finally sustainability.

Overall Design of the Supply Chain

Supply Chain Design Remember that this report should be a comparison What does each supply chain look like? Does it fit with the traditional model or something else? Are there any areas of issue or weakness? Sustainability or ethical issues? What could be changed or improved? Critical discussion throughout!

The Importance of the Consumer

Consumer How is the consumer/customer involved with the supply chain? What influence do they have over the company or associated decision making? Do they shape supply chain strategy or not? Is manufacturing determined by consumers? Push or Pull manufacturing.

The Importance of Quality

Quality What part does quality play in the overall supply chain strategy? Is quality something that is important in your examples? How do other functions of the supply chain such as purchasing impact on overall quality and quality perception?

Timing and Cost

Timing and Cost How does Timing affect logistics and the overall supply chain strategy? Is Timing something that is important in your examples? How does the procurement function of the supply chain impact on cost? How and why does timing and cost affect the quality of the supply chain What risks are there in relation to timing and cost?

Sustainability

Sustainability How does sustainability affect the supply chain? What is the importance of sustainability in the supply chain? What is the impact of Ethics and CSR in relation to sustainability. How green are the logistics? What part does the consumer play in relation to sustainability?
