Role of the Moderator Preparing for the conference Clarify with presenters – now Obtain needed information Share contact information Facilitating at the conference Know your role in the session Understand CLE information Become familiar with hotel logistics

Prior to the Conference (Please complete the following tasks by May 21) Confirm session presenters and content – get any “differences” to Sue ASAP “Meet” with presenters of your session(s) Confirm that the written content of the session that you see matches what they understand will be presented Discuss format and ask… How will the presenter engage the audience? Which speaker goes first, next, etc. How much time will each presenter have How does the presenter(s) want to handle questions from the audience Remind that their PowerPoint is due to Sue Gove by June 1st Share cell phone numbers

Presenter Registration ALL Presenters must register for the conference by visiting www.neuac.org Presenters may attend the conference for free on the day of their presentation only Register as “NEUAC Speaker – comp one day” If the presenter chooses to attend the whole conference, it is most economical for him/her to register as a regular attendee and not as a speaker Presenters must make their own hotel reservation Please explain this to all Presenters

Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Information § indicates CLE If appropriate, make sure presenters know they are speaking in a CLE session CLE presentations are due by May 24, 2017 We filed for CLE credits in multiple states – awaiting approvals CLE contact -- Edward Gingold, FERC edward.gingold@ferc.gov

Preparing On-Site Pick up the session folder at the conference registration desk at least 2 hours prior to the session Lists your presenters, session time and location § CLE instructions if you are leading a CLE session Checklist in the folder Cue up your session presentations Presenter’s information should be pre-loaded on the computer Call if you are having trouble with this. Room will be available 30 minutes before your session or as soon as the previous session ends Greet presenters and welcome attendees as they arrive

During the Session Introduce yourself and the presenter(s) Start and end on time/ give presenters time cues Lead the question-and-answer period Thank the presenters and the audience Remind attendees to complete their session evaluations Complete the Moderator Survey Very Important: Return your folder to the conference registration desk once finished.

Session Evaluations / Raffle Session attendees will be given an evaluation to complete Upon completion, they will be given a raffle ticket We expect that there will be an assistant in each room to help distribute and collect these items
