About MLIST Mailing List software is a long-time, backbone service supporting collaboration and virtual organizations Mailing List Software would benefit from integration with: authentication, directories, & other middleware Open Source Partly funded by NSF ANI-0330543 “NMI Enabled Open Source Collaboration Tools for Virtual Organizations” (Jill Gemmill, John-Paul Robinson, David Shealy, University of Alabama at Birmingham) 2/23/2019

MLIST Charter Research and document the issues surrounding middleware-enablement of mailing list services Collaborate with open source communities/developers interested in middleware integration Implement a survey of current university mailing list administrators and users Test-drive pilot/prototype solutions 2/23/2019

MLIST Deliverables Survey results and mapping of feature set to existing mailing list packages A simple model of mailing list management software operations, with middleware enablement points identified. At least one open-source list software prototype Documentation describing methods for modifying open source list software for use in federated environments. 2/23/2019
